Jun Rui, PhD of Physics. He received degrees of Bachelor of Science and PhD of Physics both from USTC in 2010 and 2015, respectively. After PhD graduation, he continued working in the ultracold molecule experiment (which they built from scratch) as a postdocat the Shanghai institute of USTC for an additional two years. From Oct. 2017 to Nov. 2020, he joined the Rubidium quantum gas microscope experiment under the supervision of Prof. Immanuel Bloch and Prof. Christian Gross at the Max-Planck Insitute of Quantum Optics, Garching bei Muenchen. Since Mar. 2021, he was appointed as a professor at USTC (equivalent to tenured associate professor in the west).
Dr Rui focuses on experimental physics of ultracold atoms, ultracold molecules and dipolar Rydberg tweezer arrays. He and his group is currently building an apparatus of dual-species quantum gas microscope of Na&Rb mixture, with the goals to explore controlled impurity physics in low-dimensional quantum fluids and to realize full quantum control of a dipolar many-body system consisting of bosonic NaRb polar molecules. He is also supervising a Strontium tweezer array experiment, aiming to explore frusting spin physics under programmable lattice geometries.
