Associate Professor (Research)
My research interest is quantum communication and quantum entanglement.
We realized 200 km decoy based quantum key distribution (QKD) system, which is the longest decoy based QKD system. We for the first time faithfully realized measurement device independent (MDI) QKD, making QKD practically secure. We are working on new quantum communication protocols, such as quantum bit commitment, quantum data locking. Our works are reported by Science, Physics, etc. MDI QKD is selected as one of the Highlights of the year 2013 by APS.
Cao Yuan, male, born in August 1983.
Obtained a doctorate in November 2012 at the University of Science and Technology of China and in the same year in the school began postdoctoral research work. In 2016, I became an associate researcher. Mainly engaged in the experimental research on free-space quantum communication and spaceborne high brightness quantum entangled source. Recent major interest in the direction of new technology of quantum optics, quantum entanglement source, and the fundamental issue of quantum mechanics.
Dr. Liang Futian, graduated from the Department of Modern Physics, University of Science and Technology of China 2013.He is a Associate Professor of the University of Science and Technology of China. The main research direction is high-speed and high-precision ASIC chip design, circuit design, providing electronic technical support for quantum communication and superconducting quantum computing.
Liao Sheng-kai, male, born in July 1983 in Hunan. Associate Professor of University of Science and Technology of China. I received a doctorate degree in engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010.My research field is quantum science and study in space electronics system and quantum communication system. I have participated in projects such as HJ1B satellite, Tiangong2 and Quantum Science Experiment Satellite.

Ren Jigang, male, born in April 1978, associate professor in Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale, selected Youth Innovation Promotion Association，CAS at 2014. In July 2001, he get bachelor's degree in science from Tsinghua University and Ph.D in science from Tsinghua University in July 2007. From 2007 to 2010, he was a postdoctoral researcher of University of Science and Technology of China(USTC). Since 2010, he has been an associate professor of USTC. His main research areas is free space quantum communication.
I have entered USTC in 2005 as an undergraduate student, then graduated in June 2010 with a Bachelor degree of Science. After this, I was invited to the Physikalisches Institut of University of Heidelberg as a visiting student during June 2010 and Nov. 2010. At the same time, I joined the graduate school of USTC and got my doctoral degree of Physics in Nov. 2015. After that, I won the Micius Research Fellowship from the Synergetic Innovation Center in Quantum Information and Quantum Physics since Jan. 2016, and started my postdoc studies at USTC.
Dr.Qi Shen, male, born in 1986 in Fengyang county, Anhui province. In 2008, he got Bachelor’s degree from Department of Modern Physics, University of Science and Technology of China(USTC). In 2013, he got Doctor’s degree from USTC. He had been a postdoctoral research fellow in USTC and University of Heidelberg, Germany. Since June, 2016, he has been an associate professor of USTC. His main research areas include free space quantum communication, laser and optoelectronic technology in quantum physical experiments.
