Abstract

报告摘要:In this talk, I will give two examples of how certain exotic geometric structures can emerge from the dynamics of quantum systems. First, I will focus on the dynamics of quantum liquids whose evolutions are governed by hydrodynamic equations. We proved that the dynamics of a strongly-interacting quantum gas can be mapped to that of an ideal gas under certain condition[1]. We call this mapping the idealized hydrodynamics and show that it explains a recent puzzling experimental observation by the Pairs group in ultracold atomic gas[2]. In the second part, I will reveal the connection of a self-similar fractal and the time evolution of a quantum system with scaling symmetry[3]. In particular, I will show that a well-studied fractal function, the Weierstrass function, arises naturally from the time evolution of a single particle moving in an inverse square function.
