Abstract

Over the past two decades, the field of ultra-cold atoms has been one of the most active frontiers in physics. Clean atomic system provides an ideal platform to explore some of the outstanding questions in quantum physics. In this talk, I will give an overview of the cold atom-related work done at Rice University. In particular, I will tell two stories: the first about the search for the FFLO state, and the other about the search for the Majorana fermion in cold atoms.
