报告人简介:
Professor Peter Zoller is a world-renowned theoretical physicist known for his pioneering contributions to theoretical quantum optics, quantum computation, quantum information, and quantum simulation. He is best known for proposing the trapped ion quantum computer and quantum simulation with cold atoms. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Physics at the University of Innsbruck and Research Director of the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He has received numerous prestigious awards for his achievements, including the John Stewart Bell Prize (2019), the Norman F. Ramsey Prize (2018) from the American Physical Society, the Willis-E. Lamb Award (2018), the Micius Quantum Prize (2018), the Wolf Prize in Physics (2013), the Benjamin Franklin Medal (2010), the Dirac Medal (2006), the Niels Bohr Gold Medal (2005), and the Max Planck Medal (2005). Professor Peter Zoller is a member of the European Academy of Sciences, the German National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina), the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, the Royal Spanish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
