TITLE: Quantum computing with dangling bonds on a silicon surface AUTHORS: Barry C. Sanders, Peng Xue, Zahra Shaterzadeh Yazdi, Jason L. Pitters, Gino A. DiLabio, Lucian Livadaru, and Robert A. Wolkow ABSTRACT: We propose quantum computation on the silicon surface with the charge qubit corresponding to a pair of dangling bonds on Si(100). Our scheme has two big advantages over bulk silicon proposals: long coherence times and direct control and readout of the surface. We build on the successful demonstration of quantum-dot cellular automata with dangling bonds, and we show how to meet all of the DiVincenzo criteria.
